'Fair share'...how about ‘some share’ from the half who pay nothing!

As the President daily deploys his ‘fair share’ mantra, he seems to overlook a glaring reality. As the chart clearly details, the staggering rate at which fewer and fewer Americans pay ‘any share’ of federal income tax has risen at an alarming rate over the previous two decades. In the three years of his administration we have seen this trend continue at an explosive pace.

“The percentage of people who do not pay federal income taxes, and who are not claimed as dependents by someone who does pay them, jumped from 14.8 percent in 1984 to 49.5 percent in 2009.” According to the Heritage Foundation calculations.
This unsustainable exodus of taxpayers who rely more and more on government entitlements is a two prong attack
on our very system of government. The ever growing federal debt, vast expansion of entitlements, and an ever shrinking taxpayer base, paints an ugly picture that cannot be ignored or hidden behind shouts of ‘fair share’.
