Election Day USA is Here at Last

It’s in the voters’ hands now...

After a grueling and seemingly endless midterm campaign season, the day of reckoning has finally arrived. Voters will cast their ballots nationwide to determine 435 House races, and on the 36 hotly contested Senate seats up for grabs. Three-dozen gubernatorial races are also at stake as well as countless state and local elections from coast to coast. By far the most important issue to be determined by today`s outcome will be which party will control the U.S. Senate. Republicans appear poised to take back majority status after eight years of wandering the backwoods of the minority wilderness.
A handful of tight Senate races will determine whether Republicans pick up the six seats needed to take control. Most crucial will be the outcomes in Colorado, Iowa, Arkansas, North Carolina, Louisiana, Alaska, Kansas, and Georgia. A possible bonus pick-up for the republicans could come in New Hampshire where polls show the race a dead heat between republican challenger Scott Brown and democrat incumbent Jeanne Shaheen. One of the more vicious and costly gubernatorial match-ups has the ever dreadful republican incumbent Rick Scott in a toss-up with the even more dreadful and opportunistic Charlie Crist, the ex-republican governor of the state, turned independent, now running on the democrat ticket. Both candidates are about as likable as a bad toothache in a snow storm. The best possible outcome from this nasty and bitterly fought race would be a duel between the two from five paces without a survivor. If you haven`t voted yet, get out and cast your vote, it could help make the difference in some of these extremely close races.
